Palynological Investigation of TTtex-1 Well, coastal marsh depobelt of Eastern Niger Delta Basin, Nigeria

Palynofacies analyses of the strata penetrated by TTtex-1 Well were carried out with aim investigating stratigraphic sequence to establish palynostratigraphic zones, relative age and paleoenvironment deposition. Sixty-two ditch cutting samples within interval 2179 – 3523 m analyzed. The use acid in sample preparation for palynofacies used. result produced relatively low abundant occurrences pollen spores shows abundance small, medium, large sizes palynomacerals I II, few III IV. lithology consists intercalations shale sandstone units argillaceous units, this designates studied be Agbada Formation. dated middle Miocene late based on recovered indicative marker species such as Multiareolites formosus, Zonocostatites ramonae, Crassoretitriletes vanraadshoveni Verrutricolporites rotundiporus, Racemonocolpites hians. A taxon range zone: Ainipollinite verus zone Two zones: formosus rotundiporus - proposed. was deposited Coastal-marsh (marginal marine) environments paleoenvironmental interpretation associations lithology.
